Chaplain Care Everywhere - New York
National School Chaplain Association announces a newly certified school chaplain; their first from New York: Joining Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and growing.
New York, was the first to host the first presidential inauguration of the first champion for chaplaincy. —George Washington. Fast forward: now the newest NSCA certified school chaplain calls New York home.
New York is known for being the first in epic categories. The first United States Capital and the first premier financial center (NYSE and Nasdaq). Innovations sprang forth like the Otis elevators and the first passenger steamboat, to name only a few of many more that made America great.
For such a world-renown epicenter to survive, continued innovation and leadership will require vision and inspiration, which starts at school.
Faith-based chaplaincy care preserves proven foundational underpinnings.
The National School for Chaplains Association is spreading this care across America. The increasing demand speaks for itself.
Prior to enrolling in the NSCA Academy, the NY chaplain came with decades of well-rounded education and experience in ministry, working as a nurse and with a masters in social work. She helps people through their darkest storms.
Civilian Chaplain Care is vital in all public sectors where stress and danger lurks, which can happen anywhere —even in the schools.
School Chaplains are trained to assist in crises such as active shooter, stop the bleed, threat assessment, and most importantly: prevention.
According to the Military Chaplaincy Review (2024) “Practical reasons for assigning chaplains to regiments and later, to brigades included the roles eighteenth-century clergy played in educational, social, and moral leadership in civilian and military organizations.”
Proponents of chaplaincy were marked by divine protection. George Washington had four bullet holes in his coat and two horses shot from under him, yet remained alive. Risking their lives for others, surviving bullets; both he and President Trump recognized the importance of the religious freedoms that our nation was built upon and that sustains us; one nation under God.
New York is a land of opportunity! In a world focused on inclusivity, school chaplaincy should not be excluded. Everywhere, including the “Big Apple” has a chance to choose the fruit of a stable society. The vibrancy and freedoms that birthed New York, as the first epicenter, was built upon the faith and the backs of its original forerunners with God’s blessing.
Personal true stories speak louder than statistics.
Chaplains from the NSCA Academy : Evidence based outcomes:
School administrators have documented positive improvements; “Stating you don’t know how much you need a chaplain on campus until you have one.” Teacher retention markedly improves. (Additional markers listed on the NSCA website.)
Observationally, there is a noticeable difference in resilience when faith is a part of life. For one instance, believers in Jesus generally demonstrate strong coping skills, respect for others, peace, joy and hope for the future.
Faith builds character over violence, effective conflict management through mutual respect, confidence, creativity, academic revival, productivity, stewardship of property and country along with improved interpersonal relationships for a stable and thriving society.
The NSCA chaplain from N.Y. came with background experience in pastoral counseling and social work, which includes addiction internships. While working two summers at Breezmont Camp in Armonk, she was moved by the loneliness of some children. She also brings experience in business, patient care and instructional leadership, podcasting and is a published author of the book titled: Can God Trust You?
Coming to Chaplaincy: She heard about National School Chaplains Association while watching the Mike Huckabee Show interview with Rocky Malloy, NSCA Founder/CEO and was deeply inspired to enroll in the NSCA Chaplain Academy.
Modus operandi: All NSCA chaplains, meet people where they are and help them weather storms. Self-discovery for full potential. Chaplain care is without coercion to those who voluntary ask for help.
Endorsed chaplain care is spreading across America and you can collaborate with NSCA to build something transformative. It begins in the schools.
Any school district can hire certified chaplains. New legislation is not required. The authority already exists in the constitutionality of chaplains decided 250 years ago.
